COIMBATORE: Four woman engineers from the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board have pledged their eyes with the eye bank at Lotus Eye Care Hospital in the city. They have given an undertaking that their corneas can be harvest when they die and can be given to those who are in need of eye transplantation. Chairman and Medical Director of the hospital Selva K. Sundaramurthy pointed out in a press release on Thursday that every pair of donated eyes gave vision to two persons. An eye each was given to every recipient. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
