Two drown in canal

MYSORE: Two persons drowned when the car in which they were travelling fell into Handihalla canal near Shivanasamudra power station in Malavalli taluk on Sunday night.

The deceased have been identified as driver Nagesh and Putta, both aged 22. Additional Superintendent of Police Krishnam Raju told The Hindu that the two were returning to Shivanasamudra around 11.30 p.m. when the tragedy occurred. — Staff Correspondent
