Double for Evans Mirajkar

BANGALORE: Evans Mirajkar claimed a double in the Tennis Guide’s State under-12 ranking tennis championship here on Sunday.

Mirjakar, who had won the u-12 single title in the KSLTA-AITA Talent Series tournament last Friday, continued his good work by bagging the boys’ singles title with a 6-2, 6-0 victory over B.R. Nikshep in the final.

Later, partnering Nikshep, he won the doubles title, beating Murari and Narahari Iyengar in a best of 17 games final at 9-2.

Nupur Umashankar emerged the girls’ singles champion with a 7-5, 6-3 victory over Sanjana Rajashekar.

The results (all finals): Boys: U-12 singles: Evans Mirajkar bt B.R. Nikshep 6-2, 6-0. Doubles: Evans Mirajkar & B.R. Nikshep bt Murari Iyengar & Narahari Iyengar 9-2.

Girls: Nupur Umashankar bt Sanjana Rajashekhar 7-5, 6-3.
