Entry fee or parking fee

The contractor at Ramanathapuram Railway station collects charges from each and every vehicle that enters the railway station campus though he is authorised to collect charges only for vehicles that are parked inside. If the charge demanded by him is not paid, the vehicle is not allowed inside the station campus thus making hardship to passengers. If a four-wheeler or auto comes with passengers for dropping them at the station, no charges could be levied for such vehicles. Rules of the railways are not followed and the public has to undergo the torture of musclemen of the contractor. I appeal to the railway authorities to check immediately this violation of rules and clarify whether the contractor is allowed to collect “entry fee” in the place of “parking fee.”

Southern Railway has been operating special trains to many important places. But we have only one train from Chennai to Rameswaram, an important pilgrim centre. I request the authorities to operate a summer special train from Chennai to Rameswaram to ease crowd in trains.

Increase flight service

The Tuticorin airport is catering to the needs of the people hailing from Tuticorin, Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari districts. But the airport is lacking adequate flight service. The only trip from the airport is now to Chennai. Further, the number of seats on Chennai aircraft should be increased.

Plus Two results

The recently released plus two results reveal that the girls have performed better than the boys,. Though it is a welcome sign, boys should think of their position. They should not waste their precious time in playing and chatting. They should work hard and produce good result percentage. Now there is a gab of six per cent in their pass percentage than girls. This should be reduced.
