GUNTUR: Blunders and glaring mistakes in Science textbooks of Classes 9 and 10 of the State Secondary School Education have been brought to the notice of the State Council of Educational Research and Training by a retired lecturer of Physics from Bapatla in Guntur district, but none bothered to correct them. Peeved at the indifference of the State Education Department over correcting the mistakes in the textbooks, lecturer D.V. Brahmaji has come out with a nine-page booklet containing mistakes in the Telugu and English textbooks. Against each entry, he has suggested correct spelling, formula or language. “The booklet, which should have been prepared by the SCERT after discussions with the subject experts and sent to all schools in the State, has not been brought out. Hence I have decided to distribute it in Hyderabad from May 31," Mr. Brahmaji said. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
