Solidarity: K.A.P. Viswanatham Government Medical College Hospital nurses taking out a rally to mark International Nurses Day in Tiruchi on Monday. TIRUCHI: Over 600 nurses from K. A. P. Viswanatham Government Medical College Hospital, district headquarters hospital and primary health centres took out a rally on Monday to mark the International Nurses’ Day. About 40 nurses, with 25 years of service to their credit, were honoured at the function, which was held at the auditorium of the hospital where the rally culminated. Candles were lit by the nurses to celebrate the spirit of the day and commemorate their services. “It is a gesture of veneration and symbolises new lease of lives in sick and ailing through committed service,” said the Secretary, Tamil Nadu Government Nurses’ Association, Tiruchi Branch, Christina Mary. Dean of K.A.P. Viswanatham Government Medical College Hospital P. Ravishankar administered the ethics and values pledge to the nurses.
