NEW DELHI: Teenaged Grandmasters Abhijeet Gupta and Parimarjan shared the second spot with 15 others at 2.5 points after three rounds of the Kaupthing Open international chess tournament at the Woiwer Sports Centre in Differdange, Luxembourg, on Sunday. Abhijeet, seeded 11th in the 85-player field, defeated France’s Alex Delorme in the third round, while Parimarjan, drew with German GM Sebastian Siebrecht. Asian ladies champion Tania Sachdev went down to the fifth seed from Israel Hanne; Georgian International Master Nana Dzagnidze leads with three points. The results (involving Indians): Third round: Sebastian Siebrecht (Ger, 2.5) drew with Parimarjan Negi (2.5); Hanne Steffanson (Isl, 2.5) bt Tania Sachdev (1.5); Abhijeet Gupta (2.5) bt Alex Delorme (Fra, 1.5); Marie Boyarchenko (Lux, 0) lost to Sahaj Grover (1).
