Thrissur: Thrissur achieved a pass percentage of 95 in the 2007-08 Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examinations, the results of which were declared on Tuesday. Of the 40,194 candidates who appeared for the examinations, 38,213 passed. In all, 768 candidates won A plus for all subjects. Students from 216 schools wrote the examinations. Eighty-one schools achieved cent per cent A plus. The following are the number of candidates who won A plus in the three educational districts: 92 (Chavakkad); 324 (Thrissur); 252 (Irinjalakuda). Of the 580 candidates of the Erumapetty Government High School who appeared for the examinations — the highest number among schools in the district — 505 passed. Chavakkad Puthenkadappuram Government High School fielded the lowest number of candidates in the district: nine. Eight of them passed. The following are the number of candidates who passed in the three educational districts: 12,417 (Thrissur); 11,770 (Irinjalakuda), 14,026 (Chavakkad). Of the 19,792 boys who wrote the examinations in the district, 18,438 passed. Of the 20,402 girl candidates, 19,775 passed. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
