Fire in bank, computer centre of varsity

CHENNAI: A fire broke out in a public sector bank branch on Tiruvottiyur High Road in the early hours of Tuesday.

Fire and Rescue Service personnel received a call at around 2 a.m.

They reached the spot and in about 15 minutes put out the fire.

The cause of fire was not known immediately.

In another incident, a fire broke out at the computer centre of the Madras University on the Marina campus. Fire and Rescue Service personnel said that on information at around 9 a.m., a fire tender was rushed to the spot. The cause of the fire was being investigated, they added.
