Doctor P.V.N. Raju passes away

Kakinada: Eminent doctor and educationist P.V.N. Raju expired on Thursday morning. He was 86. He is survived by wife, two sons and two daughters.

Dr. P.V.N. Raju was one of the founders of Rangaraya Medical College and Ideal College of Arts and Sciences. He worked as president of the governing bodies of Ideal College and Col. D.S. Raju Polytechnic College, Poduru (West Godavari district) and as president of Sri Venugopala Swamy Sanskruta Prachara Sabha, Kakinada.

Dr. P.V.N. Raju had taken fellowship in surgery in the UK. He joined the Government General Hospital, Kakinada as honorary surgeon and worked as honorary professor.

He had played an instrumental role in starting Rangaraya Medical College (RMC) along with Col. D.S. Raju, M.V. Krishna Rao and others.

In a condolence meeting, Ideal College correspondent P. Chiranjeevini Kumari, principal T. Nagi Reddy, vice-president P. Ramachandra Rao, secretary N.S.R. Sastry and other teaching and non-teaching staff paid rich tributes to Dr. P.V.N. Raju.
