Special executive magistrates appointed for poll duty

They will help tackle law and order situations from
May 16 to May 31

MANGALORE: Deputy Commissioner and District Electoral Officer M. Maheshwar Rao has appointed senior officials of various government departments as hobli-level special executive magistrates to ensure peaceful conduct of polls.

They include, five officials for Mangalore taluk, three each for Bantwal, Belthangady, and Puttur taluks, two for Sullia taluk and one for Moodbidri Hobli, a press release from Mr. Rao here stated.

These officers would help in tackling any law and order situations during the period between the polling day and May 31.

The special executive magistrates for Mangalore taluk are: Port Officer Mohan Kudari for Mangalore A hobli; Assistant Commissioner of Commercial Taxes Nagaswami for Mangalore B; Deputy Director of Factories and Boilers, Division 1, Mangalore, M.N. Chikkannavar for Surathkal Hobli; Regional Director (Environment), Mangalore, J.N. Patel for Gurupura, and Project Director, ITDP, A. Sathyanarayana for Mulki. They will be headquartered at: Old Bunder, Commercial Taxes Bhavan, Mangalore, Mangalore City Corporation office, Lalbagh, Nada Kacheris at Gurupura and Mulki, respectively.

Range Forest Officer, Moodbidri, M. Ismail will be the special executive magistrate for Moodbidri Hobli, headquartered at Range Forest office there. The officials for Bantwal are: Affairs Officer, Bantwal Town Panchayat, Muththadi for Bantwal; Industrial Extension Officer, Bantwal taluk, Ramaiah for Panemangalore hobli, and deputy tahshildar, Nada Kacheri, Vittla, Mulleswamy, for Vittla Hobli.

They will be headquartered at Town Panchayat office, Mulki and “nada kacheris” at Panemangalore and Vittla respectively.

The deputy tahshildar, taluk office, Puttur, K. Vishwanath Poojary is the special executive magistrate for Puttur Hobli, deputy tahshildar, nada kacheri, Uppinangady, B. Jagannath Rai for Uppinangady; and RFO (social forestry), Puttur, A. Raghunath for nada kacheri, Kadaba.

They will be headquartered at the taluk office, Puttur and nadakacheris at Uppinangady, and Kadaba, respectively.

The Sullia taluk panchayat executive officer, Puttaswami is the special executive magistrate for Sullia, and senior assistant director, Department of Horticulture, Sullia, A.A. Sreenivasa for Panja.

They will be headquartered at taluk panchayat office and Panja nada kacheri.

The Assistant Director, Department of Animal Husbandry, Belthangady, Sudhakar Shetty is the special executive magistrate for Belthangady; executive engineer, zilla panchayat, Belthangady, Narendra for Kokkada; and child development project officer, Belthangady, Vasudeva Uchila for Venoor Hobli.

They will be headquartered at the office of the Assistant Director, Department of Animal Husbandry, and nada kacheris at Kokkada, and Venoor.
