NEW DELHI: Central security and intelligence agencies have reviewed the arrangements of security for External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee in the wake of inputs that militant groups were planning an attempt on his life. Officials in the Home Ministry said the security agencies received an intelligence input that ‘jehadi elements’ had reportedly carried out a dry run, for an attack using a “human bomb” on Mr. Mukherjee, who was earlier heading the Defence Ministry. Sources said that certain Pakistan and Bangladesh-based outfits such as the Lashkar-e-Taiba and the Jaish-e-Mohammad were named groups which could possibly plan the attack on Mr. Mukherjee.
