NEW DELHI: The Congress on Friday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of trying to fish in troubled waters through its statements on the Jaipur blasts. Accusing the BJP of attempting to draw political mileage from the terrorist attack, Congress spokesman Shakeel Ahmed said the Opposition party’s attitude should be condemned just as much as the terrorists. “Fanning insecurity”Referring to the visits of Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha L. K. Advani to Jaipur after the blasts, Mr. Ahmed said while she acted as a balm, the BJP leader was busy “fanning” the sense of insecurity among the people. “At such a time, a responsible politician should use language that will calm people and not incite them,” he said. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
