Ministers flag off ‘Rythu Chaitanya Yatra’

‘Yatra’ will enlighten farmers about various schemes being implemented

Seventy six irrigation projects being taken up in the State, say Ministers


CHITTOOR: The fourth ‘Rythu Chaitanya Yatra’ was inaugurated by Technical and Higher Education Minister R. Chenga Reddy and Medical EducationMinister Galla Aruna Kumari here on Saturday. The Ministers formally launched the ‘yatra’ by flagging off the vehicles along with the officers. The ‘yatra’ will be held till June 3 in the district.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Chenga Reddy exhorted the farmers to participate in the ‘yatras’ and make them successful. The main aim of the ‘yatra’ is to enlighten the farmers about the various scheme implemented by the State Government for their welfare, besides motivating them to follow modern agricultural practices to improve the productivity. In addition to this they will also find out the problems faced by farmers and try to solve them. He said that 76 irrigation projects were being taken up in the State with an aim to improve their economic standards. Minister Galla Aruna Kumari said that the Chief Minister implemented all the promises held out to the people before elections such as free power for the farm sector , waiver of power arrears and loans. Collector M. Ravi Chandra, JC Suresh Kumar and JD Agriculture Ramachandram participated.
