It’s a question of fitness: Dhoni

KOLKATA: India’s ODI and Twenty20 skipper, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, set at rest any controversy regarding the age of a player in the shorter version of the game.

Speaking here on Saturday, the Chennai Super Kings captain said he never meant the ageing players were unfit to play in the shorter or the shortest version of game. “It is not the question of age but fitness that matters,” he clarified.

He said the ongoing DLF-IPL was wide open and any of the team could make it to the semifinals. “Every day is a new day and every game is a new game. How quickly a team recovers is what matters most in this kind of a tournament,” he felt.

He refused to agree that the tight schedule of the ongoing tournament was causing problems to players. ``We all knew the schedule well in advance. There is no question of complaining about it,” he observed. — Special Correspondent
