Excise inspector in ACB net

HYDERABAD: Anti-Corruption Bureau (SCB) officials on Saturday arrested P. Narender Reddy, Inspector of Excise and Prohibition, Kodangal, Mahbubnagar, on charge of amassing wealth illegally. The Anti-Corruption Bureau unearthed ‘disproportionate’ assets worth over Rs.70 lakh belonging to P. Narender Reddy, Inspector, Excise and Prohibition, Kodangal (Mahabubnagar district), following simultaneous searches at different places.

According to an ACB press release here, the places include Reddy’s office, residence at S.R. Nagar, here and Togarapally (Medak district).

Assets

The assets include two houses—one each at S.R. Nagar and Patancheru, two plots at Madeenaguda, 9.3 acre agricultural land at Indreshan village, Patancheru.

The properties have document value of Rs.53 lakh, but their market value would be about Rs.2 crore.

He was found in possession of cash, one kg gold ornaments worth Rs.4.5 lakh, two cars, bank balances of Rs.7 lakh and insurance payments of Rs.11 lakh.

The searches are continuing. Two bank lockers, one at Patancheru and another at Sangareddy in his wife’s name, are to be searched.

Some more details of the bank balances are awaited. The inventory of household articles has to be carried out, the release stated.
