Protest over death of port employee

Tension gripped the VPT Hospital here on Saturday following the death of H. Ramakrishna Rao, 38, an employee in the port’s traffic section.

His relatives and some trade union activists raised slogans against the doctors alleging that their negligence led to untimely demise.

They called off the protest after a promise by the hospital chief medical officer to order a probe.
