Women stage dharna

Tension gripped the Kancharapalem police station here on Sunday as a large number of women staged a dharna demanding arrest of two persons who ill-treated a family. When the women activists led by Progressive Organisation for Women district president M. Lakshmi refused to call off the protest, the police took some of them into custody. Demanding their release, the aggrieved activists staged another dharna.
