11 pilgrims killed in accident

KADAPA: In an accident on Kadapa-Tirupati highway, 11 persons, including three women and five children, were killed while 20 others sustained injuries when an APSRTC bus rammed into a tractor and then a Qualis van near Reddipalle tank in Obulavaripalle mandal of Kadapa district on Sunday night.

Eleven of the 12 pilgrims of Maharashtra, on their way to Tirumala in the Qualis (MH 17D 5670), died on the spot while one was grievously wounded. Their identities are yet to be established.

The lone survivor was rushed to a hospital.
