Forum rejects package, threatens stir

Jaipur: Rejecting Rajasthan government’s Rs.282-crore package for the uplift of Gujars, who are demanding ST status, a representative body of the community on Sunday threatened to obstruct movement of trains on May 23 if its demand was not met by May 22.

“The Raje government’s package is a mere eyewash,” Rajasthan Gujar Arakashan Sangarsh Samiti leader Kirorisingh Bainsala told journalists at Hindon in Karauli district. The Samiti also demanded jobs to dependents of the 26 Gujars killed during their violent agitation last year. — PTI
