Appeal to government

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president M. Krishnasswamy has urged the State government to provide necessary assistance to families of those who died in a hooch tragedy at Binnamangalam near Hosur on Sunday.

In a statement here on Monday, Mr. Krishnasswamy wanted the government to create awareness among people in rural areas on prohibition and evil effects of illicit liquor through media and cultural shows. He also expressed his condolences to families of the bereaved. — Special Correspondent
