Adare Manor (Ireland): Jeev Milkha Singh’s hopes of a top-20 finish went up in smoke after an error-strewn front nine and the Indian finished tied 40th after signing off with a two-over 74 in the Irish Open golf here. Jeev began the tournament with a bang and his opening round of six-under 66 had him tied first before things went haywire. He carded 76 and 75 in the next two rounds and needed a sub-par card on the final day for a decent finish. Englishman Richard Finch walked away with the title, closing with 70 for a total of 10-under 278. — PTI © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
