Armaan finishes seventh

CHENNAI: After the victory in round one on Saturday, Armaan Ebrahim seemed set for a repeat show in the next feature race of the Formula Asia V6 championship in Sepang but disaster overtook him in the form of an engine problem in his car.

The Chennai racer had opened up a half-a-second lead over second placed Earl Bamber.

After four laps, the safety car came out for a lap after Hafiz Koh spun off.

When the safety car pulled in, Armaan was ahead of Bamber and Charlie Charlez.

But, disaster struck in the next lap when the engine of his car suddenly lost power.

Armaan pulled into the pits and it was found that the spark plug connector had come loose.

By the time he rejoined the race, he was two laps behind the leaders. When he took the chequered flag, Armaan was seventh — good enough for four points.
