KURNOOL: Madduleti Naidu, prime accused in the murder of TDP leader Venkatappa Naidu, surrendered before the police here on Tuesday. Accompanied by his lawyer, Naidu and two other accused — Yogeswara Naidu and Arjun — walked into the office of Deputy Superintendent of Police Ramnath and declared their decision to surrender. Madduleti and Yogeswar figure as accused in the First Information Report (FIR), but the involvement of Arjun is yet to be verified. “We do not know why the man [Arjun] has claimed himself to be the part of the team,” the DSP said. Earlier, the trio went to the Superintendent of Police, who directed them to surrender. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
