NEW DELHI: Tennis ace Leander Paes, hurdler Gurbachan Singh Randhawa, cycling talent Rushi Gulati and luge participant Shiva Keshavan were honoured during the launch of the 2008 edition of the Limca Book of Records here on Tuesday. Speaking on the occasion, Leander promised to “put his best foot forward” in the Olympic Games in Beijing this year. “The last time I was felicitated by the Limca Book of Records, I won the bronze in the Atlanta Olympics in 1996. Try to do better“I’ll try and do two better this time and win the gold at Beijing,” Paes said. Those honoured were presented a citation and a stole. This year, a Hindi edition of the book was also released. From next year, beginning with Malayalam, the book will be launched in one regional language as well. Latest editionThe latest edition, spread over 472 pages and priced at Rs. 450, has devoted 71 pages to sports. In addition, the first chapter of the book is dedicated to Indian Olympians since 2008 is an Olympic year. This chapter has a page dedicated to K.D. Jadhav, Leander Paes, Karnam Malleswari, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Dhyan Chand, Balbir Singh Sr., Randhir Singh Gentle, Ranganathan Francis, Milkha Singh, P.T.
