CONSISTENT: With 10 wins from 11 matches, UFCC emerged champion in the TNCA second division. CHENNAI: United Friends Cricket Club (T. Nagar), which enjoyed an excellent 2007-08 season, earned the distinction of winning the C.P. Johnstone Shield for the TNCA second division league cricket championship. The side topped the second division table with 40 points, winning 10 of 11 matches (the only loss came against TI Cycles). UFCC and Southern Railway Institute, which finished second, will be promoted to the first division for the 2008-09 season. T.K. Durga Prasad (455 runs, including three centuries, in 11 matches at 45.50), M. Ramesh Kumar (359 runs in 11 games at 44.88), and R. Ramesh (336 runs in eight matches at 42.00) were the side’s most successful batsmen. R. Sarvana Kumar (38 wickets at 15.79) and M.
