KADAPA: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams Chairman B. Karunakar Reddy on Wednesday promised a grant of Rs. 25 lakh for developing the Sri Soumyanatha Swamy temple at Nandalur in Kadapa district. Mr. Karunakar Reddy, who presented silk clothes to the presiding deities in the temple and offered prayers, promised to send silk clothes from the TTD during Brahmotsavams in Sri Soumyanatha Swamy temple. Soumyanatha idol in the ancient temple has ‘Abhayahastam and Vaikunthahastam’, similar to Sri Venkateswara Swamy’s idol in the Tirumala temple, he said. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
