MUMBAI: Dhanraj Pillay Hockey Academy (DPHA) will conduct a tournament featuring trainees from Nagpur, Varanasi and Mumbai from May 25 to 29. The matches will be played on round-robin league format and the most talented players will be announced on the concluding day. DPHA panel of coaches trained 50 boys from the rural areas of Nagpur (Brahmapuri) and Varanasi (Olympian Vivek Singh Hockey Academy) from May 13 onwards, along with city youngsters, at the Bombay Hockey Association turf with the purpose of spotting talent from rural Maharashtra. This training and tournament is part of a three-year programme set up by the DPHA under the guidance of Dhanraj Pillay, sponsored by Arch Pharmalabs and supported by Sahara India Parivar, Vacations Exotica.
