NEW DELHI: Calling it a do-or-die effort, Mumbai Indians skipper Sachin Tendulkar sounded a note of caution that his team would need to concentrate on the Delhi Daredevils top order. “Viru (Virender Sehwag) and Gautam (Gambhir) are very good and very dangerous players. We have to get them early. They are Delhi’s key players,” Tendulkar said. When asked how his team would tackle Glenn McGrath, he said that cricket was played between 22 players. “We are thinking of various solutions, the rain factor is also in our mind,” he said. Admitting that his non-availability in the initial matches had hampered the team, Tendulkar gave credit to Sanath Jayasuriya and Shaun Pollock. “There is still a lot of cricket left in this IPL. We have started winning and playing some good cricket. We always look at the next match and not the last one. I play to win, and am doing my best,” he said. Praising the IPL, he said, “it has been good for youngsters like Abhishek Nayar, Rohan Raje and Dhaval Kulkarni. They are terrific talent.” — Special Correspondent © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
