Rs.10 a litre hike for petrol sought

NEW DELHI: With the global crude prices maintaining a sharp uptrend, the government is talking of a “mixed package” in form of a hike in prices of petrol and diesel and re-adjustment of duties to protect oil marketing companies from complete collapse.

Petroleum Minister Murli Deora has submitted a proposal for a price hike of Rs. 10 a litre for petrol and Rs. 5 for diesel.
