J & K takes on Puducherry in opener

Srinagar: Host Jammu and Kashmir will take on Puducherry in the opening match of the 62nd Santosh Trophy National football tournament here on Sunday.

In the second match of the day, Daman and Diu will lock horns with Himachal Pradesh.

Thirty-two teams will participate in the tournament which will conclude on June 15.

Four venues

The group matches will be played at four venues — two in Srinagar and two in Jammu.

All the matches from quarterfinal onwards will be played here.

The Santosh Trophy tournament was last held in Jammu and Kashmir way back in 1978. — PTI
