New York: Indian dock workers, who have been demanding that they be allowed to stay in the U.S. until an inquiry against a company which allegedly exploited them is completed, vowed to continue their hunger strike even after four of them were hospitalised. They are on strike for the past 11 days. Christopher Glory, who was hospitalised after being diagnosed with erratic blood pressure on the eighth day of the stir to press action against Signal International and its Indian recruiters, was discharged from the hospital, a spokesman for the workers said on Sunday. — PTI © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
