Shimla to host summer festival for tourists

SHIMLA: To attract more and more tourists to this hill State, the local administration is organising a mega summer festival here from June 2. It will feature top playback and pop singers from Bollywood along with cultural presentations by Himachal artistes. The five-day festival will comprise folk dances, food shows, flower shows, band displays and comedy shows. Local artistes would also perform in other tourist resorts like Kufri and Naldehra during the festival.

For the first time the festival will be covered live by Doordarshan and TV channels. The district administration would bear the expenses for the event, said Deputy Commissioner J. S. Rana.
