NEW DELHI: The traffic police have launched a drive to affix reflective tapes on bicycles in a bid to prevent accidents involving cyclists on the Capital’s roads at night. Over 33,000 bicycles have been covered under the drive so far. According to police records, cyclists form eight per cent of the victims of fatal accidents in Delhi. As part of the drive launched on May 19, two sub-inspectors and 10 constables and head constables from the Road Safety Cell and traffic circles have been deployed to fix the tapes. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
