St. John’s takes trophy

Chennai: St. John’s ES & JC (Besant Nagar) won the Spinz Deo round-robin under-15 cricket tournament by virtue of the first innings lead against MCC HSS in the final here. Geetpuri scored a century to take St. John’s to 300 after which MCC was dismissed for 57.

The scores (final): St. John’s ES & JC (Besant Nagar) 300 in 69.4 overs (Geetpuri 116, M. Goutham 91, C. Asuthosh 26, Nepolian three for 67) drew with MCC HSS 57 in 31.2 overs (C. Asuthosh three for 12, V. Ashwin three for nine). (St. John’s won on first innings lead).

Little Hearts in final

Little Hearts CA and Mass CA entered the final of the Audhi Chetty Club Mahindra Trophy u-12 cricket tournament, defeating J.S. Rao CA and Audhi Chetty MCA respectively in the semifinals here.

The scores: Little Hearts CA 177 for four in 25 overs (Kishore Srinivas 55, Ajith Srinivas 51, V. Vignesh 31 n.o.) bt J.S. Rao CA 65 in 18.3 overs (Rameez Raja 31, K. Vigneswar three for 10).

Audhi Chetty MCA 157 for six in 25 overs (P.J. Praveen Kumar 38) lost to Mass CA 158 for eight in 23.3 overs (Namay Kedia 53 n.o.)

Dhaneeshwaran shines

Dhaneeshwaran’s 70 helped J.S. Rao CA defeat Mass CA by 181 runs in the Little Hearts Parents’ Trophy under-16 cricket tournament here.

The scores: J.S. Rao CA 243 for six in 30 overs (Deepak Saravanan 56, Dhaneeshwaran 70, Santhosh three for 47) bt Mass CA 62 in 19.2 overs (Aniruth three for 26, B. Varun Kumar three for zero).

Kedar’s CA 137 in 26.4 overs (Jaya Chandran 58, Rangarajan 26, Yasar Arafat three for 26) bt N. Kanniah CA 87 in 28.3 overs.
