Call for meet on medical colleges

CHENNAI: The Communist Party of India has urged the State government to convene an all-party meeting to discuss fee structure and admission procedures of private medical colleges in the State.

Party State secretary D. Pandian, in a statement here on Tuesday, said there were reports that private medical colleges in the State were demanding “exorbitant fees”. The colleges were also not following the government’s reservation norm of 65 per cent in admitting students. — Special Correspondent
