Vijaya Kumar has been elected the honorary president of the Visakhapatnam District Dharmica Salaha Mandali of Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanams. Announcing this at a media conference here on Tuesday, district coordinator of Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishat, Sambamurthy, also introduced the other office-bearers -- honorary secretary G.R.K. Prasad (Rambabu), treasurer Himamsu K.V.S.K. Prasad and members -- P. Subbaraju, T. Chakravarthi, A. Chandramouli, E. Bhaskara Rama Murthy, and M. Chalamaiah. Vice-president Mavuri Venkataramana and other members -- A. Ramakrishna Reddy, G.V.S. Acharyulu, Annamraju Rama Devi and B.V. Parameswara Rao -- could not be present on the occasion. He also released a CD on ‘Tyagaraja Vaibhavam’, a discourse by harikatha exponent M.V. Simhachala Sastry of Tirupathi, who was also present. Mr. Rambabu said that the Sri Narasimha Ratham, which is at Simhachalam for over one month as part of the Chaturyuga Bandham Bhakthi Chaitanya Yatra programme, would leave the hill temple premises on May 30 and reach the TTD Kalyanamandapam in the afternoon. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
