Goods train derails

VISAKHAPATNAM: Rail traffic between Kothavalasa and Kirandul was disrupted on Tuesday following derailment of a goods train at Karakavalasa, about 100 km from here.

Three bogeys of the empty train jumped off the tracks in the afternoon. The exact cause was still not ascertained. The 2VK passenger train coming from Kirandul to Visakhapatnam was detained at Araku.

Railway officials sent a relief van immediately and launched restoration work on a war-footing.
