NEW DELHI: Two cases of robbery have been reported from different parts of the Capital’s trans-Yamuna area during the past 24 hours. A 60-year-old widow, Vimla Sharma, was robbed of cash and jewellery in her house at Bhajanpura on Tuesday afternoon. Ms. Sharma was alone in the house when two masked men forced their way inside, locked her in a room and decamped with cash and jewellery. At that time, her son Vinod, who is a Central Public Works Department contractor, and daughter-in-law Parul, who runs a boutique in the area, were out at work. In another incident reported on Monday night, a dairy owner was allegedly robbed of Rs.1 lakh by motorcycle-borne men at Shahdara. The police have registered a case and are trying to identify the culprits. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
