Milk shortage likely in Delhi due to Gujjar agitation

New Delhi: In view of likely milk shortage in the national Capital due to the ongoing Gujjar agitation in the neighbouring Rajasthan, Delhi Government on Tuesday said it would ensure that the gap is met by the Delhi Milk Scheme (DMS).

“Presently there is no milk shortage as such . However, as a precautionary measure we have already directed the DMS to make up the demand,” Health Minister Yoganand Shastri told reporters here.

The Government’s statement came amid reports of Gujjar leaders threatening to cut milk supplies to New Delhi in the next couple of days in case their demand for ST status is not met. PTI
