Welfare boards have 1.85 crore members

CHENNAI: As a major initiative to protect workers of the unorganised sector, the government has ensured that the welfare boards set up for the unorganised workers have enrolled 1.85 crore members.

An amount of Rs.219.47 crore has been disbursed to them as aid, says a release.

Each of the unorganised sectors has a welfare board to address the problems of the workers.
