CHENNAI: IITJEE Talent Reward Exam (FTRE) was conducted by FIITJEE, which coaches students for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) that determined admissions into the Indian Institutes of Technology, in association with The Hindu on December 2, 2007. Meritorious students will be awarded gold, silver and bronze medals based on their rankings. The subject teachers of these students who have obtained zonal ranks are being awarded trophies. In addition to these, the schools with students securing overall zonal ranks will also be awarded a trophy. On the basis of points obtained in each zone and for each class, one school has been adjudged as the best school in each zone. For the Chennai (North & Central) Zone, Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Kilpauk has won the ‘Best School Award’ for class 7 and Bhavan’s Rajaji Vidyashram, Kilpauk for classes 8, 9 and 10. For Chennai (South) Zone, Arsha Vidya Mandir, Guindy has won the ‘Best School Award’ for class 7 P. S. Senior Secondary School, Mylapore, has won it for classes 8 and 11, St.John’s, Besant Nagar class 9 and DAV Boys, Gopalapuram, has won the award for class 10. For the Chennai (West ) Zone, Padma Seshadri, T.Nagar, has won the ‘Best School Award’ for class 7, while SBOA Matric, Anna Nagar, bags it for class 8. Maharishi Vidya Mandir, Chetpet, has won the award for classes 9, 10 and 11.
