Old woman cheated

An elderly woman was cheated by miscreants, who disguised themselves as police sub inspectors and decamped with 15 sovereigns of gold worth Rs. 75,000 here on Saturday. The incident took place at 10.30 a.m. in K. K. Nagar where M. Rajathiammal (70) was asked to remove her jewels and keep them in a bag as it was not safe to have them on her. Later, they took the bag and fled. A complaint has been registered with the Anna Nagar police.
