DSS rallies

Bangalore: The Karnataka Dalit Sangharsha Samiti (N. Murthy faction) will hold rallies in all district centres of Karnataka on June 10 demanding that a separate legislation be enacted to deal with cases related to manufacture and sale of illicit liquor. Speaking at a press conference here on Tuesday, samiti president Mr. Murthy said that all the hooch-related cases – as many as 4,106 since 2004 – should be tried in a special court. He said the 200 victims of the recent hooch tragedy should be given compensation of Rs 5 lakh each. — Special Correspondent
