Bangalore: The U.S.-based Association of Kannada Kootas of America (AKKA) will hold its three-day 5th world Kannada conference from August 29 at the famous Rosemont Convention Centre close to Chicago’s O’Hare International Air Port. The first-ever AKKA lifetime achievement award, in recognition of the contribution of those in the field of business, fine arts, science and technology and literature would be presented on the occasion. The conference delegates will choose the “AKKA Idol,” a novel programme to recognise the most-talented members among the Kannada associations affiliated to AKKA. The chairman of the AKKA India Coordination Committee, M.
