Mumbai: A special MCOCA court on Tuesday extended the judicial custody of gangster-turned-MLA Arun Gawli, arrested on charges of extortion, till June 17. The special Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) court here also extended the judicial custody of seven others, including Gawli’s brother Vijay Ahir, arrested in the same case. Special judge Vinay Joshi also allowed application filed by Gawli for home food on medical grounds. Gawli was arrested on April 21 after being booked in an extortion case filed by a city-based builder who was receiving threatening calls from Gawli’s henchmen.
