Mumbai: Marrayya Monica Susayraj’s and her fiance M. L. Jerome Mathew, accused of killing TV executive Neeraj Grover, were remanded to judicial custody till June 16 by a local court.

Criminal lawyer Niteen Pradhan, who is appearing for the actress said that he has already moved a bail application before the sessions court which will be heard on Wednesday.

Grover, a creative head with TV production house Synergy Adlabs, was stabbed to death allegedly by Mathew inside Susayraj’s apartment in suburban Malad on May 7 over a suspected “love triangle”.

Susayraj and Mathew allegedly chopped Grover’s body to several pieces, put the parts in three bags and then disposed it of by burning at Manor.

Naval officer Mathew was allegedly unhappy with Grover’s proximity to Susayraj. Susayraj, aspiring to get into TV serials, was continuing with the friendship hoping to get a break, police have said earlier.

A nine-inch-long knife which is suspected to have been used to kill Grover was recovered from Susayraj flat, the police said.

“We have recovered the knife from a chute situated near the bathroom of Susayraj’s flat in Malad,” Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Rakesh Maria said on Monday. Mathew is suspected to have washed the weapon and thrown it in the chute after the murder when Susayraj had gone to a nearby mall for fetching some wares which were used in disposing of the body, Mr. Maria said.
