KOLLAM: Senate member of the University of Kerala D. Jagadesh Chandran has alleged that the Syndicate of the university has politicised the examination system. Talking to The Hindu, he said the development had resulted in examination malpractices, especially copying, getting rampant. Dr. Jagadesh, who is also a Reader in the Zoology Department attached to the NSS College, Nilamel, said he had enough grounds to fear that at selected examination centres this year, responsible authorities had turned a blind eye to malpractices. If the trend continued, it could even affect the credibility of the university, he said. In order to facilitate such practices, this year the university Syndicate constituted malpractices squads by flouting all established norms like even seniority. The squads adopted different approaches at different colleges, he said. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
