MAHABUBNAGAR: All arrangements have been made to meet the demand of fertilizer and seeds during the kharif 2008, said district Collector V. Usharani speaking to press persons here on Tuesday she said that chemical fertilizer and seeds were stocked in all stock points at mandal headquarters in the district. As many as 94,372 metric tunes of fertilizer which required during the kharif was dumped in all stock points. Referring to seeds positions the collector said that seeds were also stocked in all mandal points besides seeds were also made available in fertilizer shops. She said that all necessary steps were taken in view of last kharif season. During the last kharif season 6.20 lakh hectors of area was sown in the district and it is also expected the same cropping area would be sown in this season also. Usharani said that meetings were also conducted with the representatives of seed, fertilizer companies besides farmers were educated through Rythu Chaithanya Yatras. The collector said that Government has taken all steps to provide crop loans and the priority will be given to the farmers who never obtained loans from the banks. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
