ADILABAD: The TDP on Wednesday demanded the government to issue guidelines for crop loan waiver soon so that farmers could avail fresh loans. The party criticised the government’s decision to advance crop loan disbursal to farmers to the first week of July. At a press conference here Telugu Rythu district president B. Goverdhan Reddy and TDP spokesman Jogu Ramanna said despite the government’s announcement of the loan waiver no farmer benefited so far. In fact banks were reluctant to advance fresh crop loans unless clear guidelines for the waiver were announced, the leaders pointed out. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
